The Magic of Miyazaki
If you love the movies of Miyazaki Hayao and Studio Ghibli, come to Aichi Prefecture! There is a new theme park called Ghibli Park just outside Nagoya in Nagakute. Actually, my children were growing up when “My Neighbor Totoro” first came out, and I remember taking my granddaughter to the park to see a replica of the house from that movie after the Aichi Expo. That house is now part of the “Dondoko Forest” area of the theme park. There are two other areas that are now open, “Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse” and “Hill of Youth,” and two more areas will open in the next few years.
