Beaver Moon, Blood Moon
Tonight is a special night. Go outside tonight and you will be able to see a full moon. It is called a Beaver Moon because this is the time of year in the U.S. when beavers work hard to find and store food for the winter. In the early evening tonight, there will be something even better: a lunar eclipse. The moon will go into the shadow of the Earth. It won’t turn black and disappear completely; it will turn red, the color of blood. The eclipse starts at about 6 p.m. and finishes after 9:30 p.m. Don’t miss this Blood Moon! The next one won’t be until 2025.
