“Totto-Chan,” a New Guinness Record
When I think of Kuroyanagi Tetsuko, I think of a TV celebrity. She started Japan’s first talk show in 1975 and has been on TV ever since. I enjoy watching her because she is a great talker. She is quick and intelligent, and she has a warm heart. She has done volunteer work for UNICEF and for children around the world for many years. Now she is in the news because of her autobiography (the story of herself that she wrote). Her book, “Totto-chan: The Little Girl at the Window,” came out in 1981, and this September it became the most published autobiography in the world. Guinness congratulated her and gave her a World Record certificate last Thursday.
