・何のコンテストのことかと思いましたが、単にマスクがもらえる懸賞ということですね。それをcontestというのは勉強になりました。
・I can do without ～ ･･･「～なくても大丈夫です」ということ。doは特別何をするということではありません。

Not Really Disappointed
Do you remember my story on October 20? I talked about a special mask that smells like bacon. After I wrote the story, I decided to enter the meat-processing company’s contest to win the mask. I gave the company my address in the U.S. and waited. Yesterday, they finally contacted me by email. I didn’t win, but they told me that I could still enjoy the taste and smell of their real bacon. It was fun to enter a contest like this, but I’m not really disappointed. I liked the pattern on the mask, but I can do without smelling bacon all day long.
