Readers’ Corner: My Great Mentor
About one month ago my great mentor, Mr. Y., passed away at the age of 76. I am still shocked and very sad. I was working with him at the same school for several years, and he taught me how to teach, how to live, and how to think. I drank, talked, and laughed with him more than 200 times over the past 30 years. While drinking, he once said to me gently, “You are OK, because you are you!“ A great many people loved him because he was always tender. He inspired all of us. I will never ever forget him, and I will be dreaming of him from now on. I wish I could drink with him again in heaven. Thank you very much, Mr. Y! You are great!
