wander
wanderという動詞があります。
wonderではありません。まったく別の動詞です。
wonderは「～かなと思う」など自信のないことや驚きなどを表しますが、
wanderはぶらつく/うろつく/歩き回る・・・といった意味です。
I wonder if she comes.（彼女は来るかな）
They wandered in the forest.（彼らは森の中をさまよった）
wanderは物語や歌の歌詞にもとてもよく出てきます。
wonderとは意味も違いますが発音も違います。
wonderは（ワンダー）のような音ですが、wanderは（ウォンダー）のような音です。
カラオケで英語の歌を歌う時、どちらもワンダーと歌っている人を多く見かけます。
原因はカラオケのルビかもしれませんね。ワンダーと書いてあるのかも。
考えてみれば面白いものですね。
wonderをワンダー、wanderをウォンダーと発音するとは綴りと逆ではありませんか。

・One dayで始まる文は語群の区切りを間違えるとわからなくなりますね。

Readers’ Corner: The Last Run of the Max Double-decker Bullet Train
The Max double-decker bullet train (“shinkansen”) made its last run on October 1st. This news was special for me because the Max is related to a family episode. My father and mother worked in the same company. She quit her job when they got married, and he kept working there as engineer until he passed away in his early 60s. One day more than a year after his death, several of his colleagues who my mother knew well visited her. They invited her for a short trip on the Max. She thoroughly enjoyed the trip, knowing that some of the electrical equipment had been designed by my father’s team. She also appreciated his colleagues for caring about her in that way.
