Like a Chicken with Its Head Cut Off
In English, we use animals to describe people. For example, we say that someone eats like a bird. That means that they eat very little. When they eat a lot, we say that they eat like a horse. When they drink a lot of alcohol, we say that they drink like a fish. When you take a test, the teacher watches you very carefully, like a hawk. I remember traveling with someone who lost her passport in another country. She was so worried that she panicked and ran around like a chicken with its head cut off. Luckily, she found it and calmed down.
