Big Money in MLB
Three Japanese players are moving to MLB in 2023. First of all, the New York Mets have hired Senga Kodai, the star pitcher of the Softbank Hawks. He will be getting $14 million per year. Together with Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer, he will make this team’s pitching staff one of the strongest in the MLB. Yoshida Masataka, a great batter from Orix, will be playing for the Boston Red Sox. He will be getting an even bigger contract, $18 million dollars per year! The Red Sox hope that his batting will make them a winning team again. Finally, Fujinami Shintaro, a pitcher from the Hanshin Tigers, has signed with the Oakland A’s for a one-year, $3.25 million dollar contract. He will probably be one of their starting pitchers.
