Hello from Nagoya! I want to thank everyone who came to see me on Monday afternoon. It was wonderful to meet and talk to so many people who read Jaremaga. Seiko Watanabe had written about the Mirai English School in her messages to me, and I can see that it is a very special school.
This wasn’t my first visit to Sapporo, but it was my first time to go up inside the Sapporo TV Tower. Not only did I have a chance to meet you, but you made sure I had a nice view, even though I was a little distracted by the bungee jumping going on outside!
I was so glad you broke up into groups so that I could go around and say hello to everyone. Then later, at the café, I had the pleasure of meeting the head of the school, Mr. Sugama. I just wish I could have talked to everyone longer.
I was very lucky with the weather and got back to Nagoya just before the typhoon hit. If I had waited another day, I wouldn’t have been able to fly back! I hear that the typhoon got as far as Hokkaido. I hope you weren’t affected by it. We escaped the worst in Nagoya. Now I’m back in 33 degree weather and miss the delicious coolness of Sapporo.
Please keep on reading English and sending me your stories. I know writing isn’t easy, but I always look forward to them. Once again, thank you for the wonderful afternoon you gave me in Sapporo!
